Oven baked Parmesan crusted tilapia

This is the most amazing tilapia recipe ever! Oven baked, easy to put together and your dinner will be ready in 20 min. If you are counting calories use light Parmesan cheese, add a salad or steamed veggies and a small portion of brown rice and voilà: a yummy dinner, healthy, diabetes friendly and carb conscious. This is a Rachael’s Ray recipe , with no modification other than the light Parmesan. Oh, I didn’t add any salt either since the cheese is salty enough.

Oven baked Parmesan crusted tilapia

3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (I used light Parmesan)
2 tsp paprika
1 tbs chopped flat-leaf parsley
2 tbs olive oil
4 tilapia fillets (about 1 pound total)
1 lemon, cut into wedges

Preheat the oven to 400 F. In a shallow dish, combine the cheese with the paprika and parsley. Drizzle the fish with olive oil and dredge in the cheese mixture. Place on a foil-lined baking sheet and bake until the fish is opaque in the thickest part, 10 to 15 minutes. Serve the fish with the lemon wedges.

Tilapias assadas com queijo parmesão
3/4 xícara queijo Parmesão ralado
2 colheres de chá de salsinha picada
2 colheres de chá de paprica
2 colheres de sopa de azeite
4 filés de tilápia (aproximadamente 500 gr)
1 limão cortado em 4

Pré aqueça o forno a 400F (200C).
Num prato raso misture o queijo ralado, páprica e salsinha.
Esfregue o azeite nos filés e depois passe-os na mistura de queijo ralado. Arrume-os numa assadeira forrada com papel alumínio untado e ponha no forno por aproximadamente 10 a 12 minutos, até que os filés estejam opacos nas partes mais grossas. Sirva os filés com os limões cortados.

  1. I’ve got Cod in the freezer. Do you think this recipe would go with Cod?

    1. I am not sure, cod is delicious… a bit heavier than tilapia, but it might work. Let me know if you try it! And thanks for stopping by!

      1. I finished off the last of it tonight and mopped up the juices with homemade French bread. The camembert was very, very good. I’m not sure it went with cod though. Still, it didn’t go to waste!
